Prateek Kuhad, born on March 3, 1990, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, has made significant strides in his music career since he began. Kuhad chose to pursue music full-time, marking his entry into the industry with the release of his first EP, “Prateek Kuhad,” and “Raat Raazi” in 2013. Kuhad’s debut album, “In Tokens & Charms,” released in 2015. His track “cold/mess” has become especially well-known, and in 2020, he became the first Indian artist to sign with the American record label Elektra Records. Kuhad’s music, known for its indie folk style, often explores themes of love and relationships. Among his most famous songs are “cold/mess,” “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” from the movie “Baar Baar Dekho,” and “Saansein” from “Karwaan.” His work has not only resonated with audiences in India but has also received international honour, with “cold/mess” making it to former US President Barack Obama’s “Favorite Music of 2019” list.
