Sowmya Raoh, born on April 18, 1973, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, is a versatile Indian playback singer who has performed in various languages, including Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and Telugu. She began her musical journey in 1993 and made her Bollywood debut nine years later. Some of her famous songs include “Greekuveerudu” from the Telugu film Ninne Pelladata, and “Dreamum Wakeupum” from the Hindi movie Aiyyaa. Raoh has also worked with famous composers like Ilaiyaraaja and A. R. Rahman, recording over 200 songs by 2006. Her song “Karagida Baaninalli” from the film “Simple Agi Ondh Love Story” not only captured hearts but also earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer – Kannada, highlighting her exceptional talent and versatility in singing.
