He began his career as a keyboard player at the age of 16, working with the legendary duo Laxmikant–Pyarelal. Monty gained recognition for his background scores in films like Black (2005) and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013). He made his debut as a music director with Saawariya (2007), earning the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.
