Coolie No. 1 is an Indian Hindi comedy movie directed by David Dhawan and written by Rumi Jaffery and Kader Khan. The movie features Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Kader Khan, and Sadashiv Amrapurkar, with music by Anand-Milind. This movie was one of the first successful movies of Karisma Kapoor. Actor Govinda received the Star Screen Award Special Jury Award for his role in this movie as ‘performer of the decade’. Over the years, the movie has become a classic in Hindi movie history and is now considered a cult movie. The movie songs are sung by Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Poornima, Abhijeet, Chandana Dixit, Udit Narayan, and Sadhna Sargam. The movie was released on 30 June 1995.
