Hindi Mrityudand (1997)

Mrityudand, translated as “Death Sentence,” is a 1997 Indian Hindi drama film directed and produced by Prakash Jha. The movie, which was released on July 11, 1997, is set in Bihar and tackles issues of social and gender injustice. It stars Madhuri Dixit, Shabana Azmi, Ayub Khan, Mohan Agashe, Om Puri, Shilpa Shirodkar, and Mohan Joshi.

The film’s music was composed by Anand–Milind, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The soundtrack features notable songs like “Keh Do Ek Bar Sajana Itna Kyu Pyar Sajna” sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, “Raat Maheke To Yun Bhi Hota Hai Chand” by Sadhana Sargam and Hariharan, and “Tum Bin Man Ki Bat Adhuri” by Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam.
