Hindi Sadak (1991)

Sadak is an Indian Hindi romantic thriller movie directed by Mahesh Bhatt. It features Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. The movie is one of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of the year 1991. The movie is also fondly remembered for the late Sadashiv Amrapurkar’s award-winning performance as the film’s villain, Maharani. The movie was inspired by the 1976 American movie Taxi Driver. This movie was remade in Tamil as Appu (2000), directed by Vasanth with actor Prashanth and Devayani in lead roles, with Prakash Raj as the antagonist. A sequel, Sadak 2 was released on 28 August 2020. The music of the movie is composed by the music duo Nadeem Shravan. Lyrics are written by Sameer and Surendra Sathi. All songs were sung by Anuradha Paudwal along with Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Manhar Udhas, Debashish Dasgupta, Junaid Akhtar, and Babla Mehta.
