Arjun Chandy, an Indo-American singer, vocal arranger, and studio vocalist, is recognized for his unique contributions to the Indian music scene, particularly through his collaborations with the legendary A.R. Rahman. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Chandy has a rich background in both Indian classical music and Western music styles, which he has beautifully blended in his career. A prominent figure in Rahman’s vocal band NAFS since its inception in 2014, Chandy has been instrumental in popularizing vocal harmony and jazz elements in modern Indian music. Notably, he lent his voice to the tracks “Azhagiye” from “Kaatru Veliyidai”, “Hamsaro” from “Cheliyaa”, “AB Yevaro Nee Baby” from “Agnyaathavaasi“, “Idharkuthaan” from “Bigil” and “Sarvam Thaalamayam” from the film of the same name. A.R. Rahman invited Arjun Chandy to Chennai towards the end of 2013, where he played a key role in forming the vocal group “NAFS – The Band.”
