Nirmala Devi was born on June 7, 1927, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and died on 15 June 1996, at the age of 69, in Mumbai, she was a well-known Hindustani classical vocalist of the Patiala Gharana and an actress in 1940s Indian cinema. Her musical career is highlighted by her playback singing in films such as “Ram Teri Ganga Maili” (1985), “Bawarchi” (1972), and “Shama Parwana” (1954).
