Shweta Mohan, born on November 19, 1985, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a distinguished Indian playback singer celebrated for her contribution to South Indian cinema. Daughter of the acclaimed singer Sujatha Mohan, Shweta has carved her own niche in the music industry, recording over 800 songs across various languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Her musical journey began at a young age under the guidance of prominent music directors such as A.R. Rahman and Ilayaraja, marking her presence in the industry from the early 2000s. Shweta’s vocal prowess has been acknowledged with numerous awards, notably four Filmfare Awards South for her performances in songs like “Aradhya” from “Kushi” and “Sanje Gagana” from “Seethayana“. She also earned the Kerala State Film Award for “Kolakkuzhal Vili Ketto” in “Nivedyam” and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for her versatile singing across multiple films in 2011.
