Saawariya, released on November 9, 2007, is a Bollywood romantic drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who also composed its music. The film marks the debut of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles, alongside Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji in supporting roles. Based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s short story “White Nights,” Saawariya explores the story of a young artist, Raj, who falls in love with a mysterious woman, Sakina, who awaits the return of her lover.
