Ankit Tiwari, born on March 6, 1986, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, is renowned for his work as a playback singer, music director, and composer in the Indian film industry. His journey in music began early under the influence of his family’s musical background and led him to Mumbai, where his career took off after meeting Pradeep Sarkar. Tiwari gained significant recognition with his work in movies like “Do Dooni Chaar” (2010) and “Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster” (2011), where he also made his singing debut. Tiwari’s fame skyrocketed with the success of the song “Sunn Raha Hai” from the film “Aashiqui 2” (2013), which earned him several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director, shared with Mithoon and Jeet Gannguli. His track “Galliyan” from “Ek Villain” (2014) was another milestone, winning him the Filmfare Award, GiMA Awards, and IIFA Awards for Best Music Director, a notable achievement as it was the only such award not won by Arijit Singh from 2014 to 2020.
