Rashid Khan was a very famous music person from India. People called him the “future of Indian vocal music.” Rashid Khan was born on July 1, 1968, in Sahaswan, Uttar Pradesh, and sadly passed away on January 9, 2024, in Kolkata, West Bengal, after fighting a long battle with prostate cancer. During his life, he received two very big awards for his music: the Padma Shri in 2006 and the Padma Bhushan in 2022. Rashid Khan not only sang beautifully but also directed music for some movies. Some of the famous songs he directed include “Allah Hi Rahem” from the movie “My Name is Khan” in 2010, “Dewaana Kar Rha Hai” from “Raaz 3” in 2012, and “Aaoge Jab Tum Saajna” from “Jab We Met” in 2007. Besides these, he also worked on many albums that were not part of movies, like “Classical Wonders of India” in 2015 and “Krishna – Ustad Rashid Khan” in 2013.
