Ananthu is a distinguished Tamil singer, most popular and well-known in the Indian music scene from the early 1990s to the present. His journey in music began under the mentorship of M. S. Vishwanathan, a well-known figure in Indian cinema music. Despite a modest start in the 1990s, Ananthu’s career took a significant turn with his breakthrough songs “Puli Urumudhu” in Vettaikaaran (2009) and “Ulagam Oruvanukka” as well as “Maya Nadhi” in Kabali (2016). Ananthu’s discography is vast, with notable Tamil songs such as “Thennamara Cholai” from Jameen Kottai (1995), “Chinnajiru Kilye” from Aanai (2005), and “Kambikara Vetti” from Komban (2015). He was honored with his nomination for the IIFA Utsavam Award for Best Playback Singer – Male – Tamil for his work in Kabali. His notable achievements include the prestigious Kalaimamani award.
