Jatin Pandit, born in Mumbai, India, is a renowned composer, music director, and singer who, along with his brother Lalit, formed the iconic music director duo Jatin–Lalit. The duo began their illustrious career in 1991, quickly becoming a household name in the Bollywood music industry. They are celebrated for introducing fresh sounds and a modern approach to film scores in Bollywood, contributing significantly to the music of the 1990s and early 2000s. Their breakthrough came with the film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar in 1992, and they went on to score music for over 50 films including hits like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), and Mohabbatein (2000). The duo has a distinctive style that combines melodious compositions with contemporary sounds, often collaborating with leading lyricists such as Anand Bakshi and Javed Akhtar. Some of their most famous songs include “Yeh Dil Deewana“, “Bahon Ke Darmiyan“, and “Yahan Ke Hum Sikander“. Despite their separation in 2006, the brothers have left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. Jatin-Lalit received multiple nominations for the Filmfare Best Music Director award.
